UNM Hospital Lions Eye Center

The Lions of New Mexico are partnering with UNM Hospital to ensure the success of this new Eye Center scheduled to open in 2011. This center will meet the following critical needs in NM communities:

  • Increased exam capacity
  • NM's only opthamology training facility
  • Telemedicine, providing services across the state
  • Research focused on diabetic retinopathy (the leading cause of blindness in people 20-64 years), glaucoma and macular degeneration.
